I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 08/08/2015 from NY 11413, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB.

08/08/15 13:55 Basic Information: Prince is an 8 year old altered male domestic short. He was a gift many years ago. Owner surrenders him due to personal problems. Social Life and Personality: Prince lived with two adults and no children. Prince was relaxed and respectful towards everyone who visits the household. His behavior is unknown towards cats and dogs but lived with fish and birds. He was indoors only and activity level is high. Owner stated Prince is playful, shy, friendly, affectionate, quiet, and independent. Behavior Issues: Prince never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. Owner stated he has no behavior issues and is a good cat. Prince dry baths with dry shampoo and nail trims when he starts to scratch on furniture. Prince likes to be picked up and held but not for long. For a New Family to Know: Prince is litter box trained and litter box is kept uncovered. He likes to play with balls and strings. He had a scratching post made out of carpet and cardboard. He likes to follow owner around the house and play gentle. Owner stated Prince eats dry food once a day and treats at nighttime. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Prince was calm and relaxed. He scanned negative for a microchip and allowed handling.

Reaction to Assessor: Prince was calm and relaxed upon approach. He look at the assessor with relaxed eyes when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Prince remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Prince head-butts lightly, leans on the assessor’s hand, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Prince remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Prince has lived with two adults and no children. He was relaxed and respectful with everyone who visits the household. His behavior is unknown towards cats and dogs, but he has lived with fish and birds. He was described as playful, shy, friendly, affectionate, quiet, and independent with a high activity level. He likes to be picked up and held, but not for a long time. Behavior Determination: Average Prince interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
