11/19/15 17:24 BASIC INFO Pretty A1058402 is an 8 year old domestic shorthair cat. She was a gift to the Owner from friends. Owner relocated and the room mate is allergic to the cat. Pretty does not have any health issues. SOCIALIZATION Pretty is shy around strangers. She has never lived with any kids. She plays gentle with adults and loves to play with strings. Pretty has never bitten or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Pretty does not have any behavior issues. She allows you to hold her and pet her. She is not bothered if picked up. Pretty is not bothered if you try to place her in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Pretty is best described as friendly and affectionate. She has a low to medium activity level. When home, she follows you around. Pretty likes to play with string toys. She sleeps anywhere in the home. She eats Meow Mix dry food. Pretty uses a regular litter box. Pretty uses a vertical carpet scratching post. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Pretty was very nervous upon intake, so much that she urinated on her way in. She allowed all handling, but was very fearful for photos.

11/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pretty’s previous owners stated that she is shy around strangers. She has never lived with any children, but she plays gentle with adults and loves to play with strings. She allows people to hold her and pet her, and is not bothered when picked up. She was described as friendly and affectionate with a medium activity level. She usually follows the owner around at home. Reaction to assessor: Pretty was resting in her cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pretty slowly opens her eyes, but does not turn to face the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Pretty becomes stiff and lowers her body. Reaction to touch: Pretty was hesitant and tries to hide behind her litter box, but allows all petting. She blinks and lip licks during the interaction, but slowly warms up and starts to purr. Behavior Determination: Experience Pretty tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Any future home with young children should conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
