06/20/15 12:30 Basic Info: Precious Pie is a 6 year old female who has no prior injuries or medical problems. She was gotten as a gift from a friend and was surrendered to the shelter because her owner is entering a shelter and can not take her. Social Life and Personality: According to owner she has been around children ages 3 and up and is affectionate, relaxed, and at times playful but mostly looks for affection instead of playing.. When she plays it is exuberant and sometimes a little rough because she does occasionally play bite (has never broken skin or left bruises). She has the same behavior with cats (live the A1040844 Babs and A1040846 Cesar) and has been around a Shih Tzu and Pit mixes and is relaxed and very playful with them. She is litter box trained, has been kept indoors only, and has a medium level of energy. She was described as playful, confident, friendly, and quiet. Behavior: She has not bitten or scratched anyone before. She was not bothered when her owner gave her a bath and enjoyed being brushed but she has never had her nails clipped. She is friendly and enjoys being picked up and held. New Family Info: She is used to different kinds of litters (clumping, clay, and crystal) inside both a hooded and uncovered box. She will play with balls, string, cat nip toys and wand toys. She will follow owner around the home and is fed both wet and dry food. Intake Behavior: During intake approached extended hand and sniffed it. Allowed all handling without aggression and when scanned for microchip was negative. When touched, picked up, and held she had soft, relaxed body and would purr.

According to the former owner she has been around children ages 3 and up and is affectionate, relaxed, and at times playful but mostly looks for affection instead of playing. When she plays it is exuberant and sometimes a little rough because she does occasionally play nips. She has the same behavior with two other cats. Precious has been around a Shih Tzu and Pit mixes. She is relaxed and very playful with them. Also, was described as playful, confident, friendly, and quiet. Reaction to assessor: Precious looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Precious remains lying down on her cage bedding, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Precious stands with tail up, head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She becomes antsy and jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Average Precious Pie interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
