Medical Summary S/O: Microchip: 985121002402215 Sex: Female Est Age: 1-2yrs Mentation: QAR/depressed but eats readily Eyes: wnl Ears: wnl Nose: wnl Teeth: grade 0-1/4 dental dz, mm-pale pink, slightly tacky; crt < 2s BCS: 4-5/9 Skin/Hair Coat: wnl Any injuries: suspect broken pelvis, not moving hind end Behavior: Green – cat is very sweet, makes biscuits, allows all handling, cries as if in pain but never hisses or growls Medication: Gave 0.17cc buprenorphine 0.5mg/ml SQ, 0.16cc meloxicam SQ, and 100mls SQ LRS A: Paraparesis, possible pelvic fx P: Sedate to radiograph tomorrow, continue bupi BID PROGNOSIS: Fair-Poor

VC – EXPRESS BLADDER, MONITOR PELVIC LIMB FUNCTION, ANAL TONE, AND COMFORT
S/O: Cat is QAR/depressed, did not eat overnight and will only lick small amounts of baby food off tongue depressor. Has withdrawal both hind limbs and can move limbs when trying to get around cage, but growls and cries in pain. Bladder is small, soft and easily expressed but concerned because there has been no BM but palpable stool in colon.
A: Multiple pelvic fractures, temporary or permanent nerve damage
P: Have NH send plea with 5pm deadline, this cat’s pain is not being managed with buprenorphine and meloxicam and she needs to go to a veterinarian who can provide 24-hr care including but not limited to IV fluids, CRI for pain, and surgery if indicated.
PROGNOSIS:

VC: Sedate for pelvic rads
S/O: BARH, APP ++, no urine or feces noted in box.
Sedated w/ 0.14ml telazol for pelvic radiographs.
Radiographs revealed bilateral sacroiliac fractures and pelivc symphysis fracture.
Bladder was expressed very easily
A: Pelvic fractures, possible associated nerve damage
P: Continue buprenorphine for pain management, express bladder daily, continue to monitor pelvic limb urinatation/defecation ability and comfort. If ability to urinate and defecate on own is compromised would recommend EHR. Will contiue to monitor daily for progross. Recommend placement w/ NH partner if owner can not be identified. She needs follow-up veterinary care.
