POPEYE – A1038468
6-8-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 06/08/15*** IS THREE TIMES THE CHARM FOR POPEYE?? PLEASE MAKE HIS THIRD CHANCE COUNT!!! POOR SENIOR STRAY BOY HAS A GOOD BEHAVIOR RATING AND A GOOD APPETITE, BUT WILL DIE BECAUSE HE SNEEZED – PLEASE GRANT POPEYE A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Earlier POPEYE, a 10-year-old gray tabby and white senior, was on the kill list without a photograph, so it stands to reason that the high-kill ACC put ZERO EFFORT into finding a home for this dear old gent! At least they finally were shamed into taking his picture so we can see how HANDSOME this “GOLDEN OLDIE” is. Popeye entered the shelter as a supposed “STRAY” who was FOUND IN A YARD! He weighs over 13 pounds, so it’s a sure bet that he’s a lost pet. Popeye earned a very good EXPNOCHILD behavior rating for the way he ALLOWED PETTING, but that’s not enough to save him. Sadly, now Popeye has caught the ever-present ACC kitty cold, which the ACC will “CURE” with a lethal injection tomorrow at noon, despite the fact that Popeye has a “GOOD APPETITE” and the ACC says that his “SHORT-TERM PROGNOSIS” is “EXCELLENT”. Please step up for this sweet, betrayed senior boy! Start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt senior POPEYE! If you can’t save POPEYE yourself, please SHARE his sad story and PLEDGE for his rescue!

06/04/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Popeye came to us as a stray on 6/2/15. Popeye could be seen in the back of the kennel with neutral body language. He became uncomfortable in the assessor’s presence displaying tense body language. He allowed the assessor to pet softly but moved away very quickly, and had very tense and stiff body language. The behavior department believes that Popeye should go to a very experienced home without children that can give him time to acclimate to his new home and the adopter. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken to quietly: ignores you completely Reaction to cage door opening: retreats Reaction to touch: moves away from you to avoid being touched, has very stiff and uncomfortable body language
