***SAFE 07/18/15*** PURRING WOUNDED GRAY TUXIE GIRL, DUMPED FOR “PET HEALTH”, IS “HEALING” AND HAS A GREAT BEHAVIOR RATING, BUT THE ACC WILL KILL HER ANYWAY – PLEASE GRANT PIXEL A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Beautiful gray tuxie girl PIXEL, just 3 years old, was brought to the kill-happy ACC as a WOUNDED girl, dumped by her old owner for PET HEALTH, with NO EXPLANATION for her head and neck wounds given by the old owner. Was she ABUSED or MISTREATED? She earned a very good EXPNOCHILD behavior rating for allowing all petting, despite her suffering. At her latest medical eval, Pixel proved she is GETTING BETTER: “no evidence of infection or bleeding; healing wounds on face; cleaned with warm water, Pixel enjoyed being groomed and was purring.” But the ACC will KILL this darling girl at noon tomorrow, although she’s “HEALING”! Please don’t let them silence her purrs forever! Start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt tuxie sweetheart PIXEL! If you can’t save PIXEL yourself, please SHARE her sad story and PLEDGE for her rescue!

07/13/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/13/15 14:06 Intake Behavior: Pixel came into the care center with wounds on top of her head and neck. She was not collared because of the wounds that she had. She sat in the carrier mildly shaking her head. Her body was slightly tense. She allowed to be pet inside the carrier. She did not want to come out of the carrier but when it was slightly tilted she walked out on her own. When on the counter she curled her tail up to her body and held still. The photo was taken quickly, the carrier was placed on the counter, and Pixel walked back in the carrier on her own. She licked her nose when on the counter but she did not show any aggressive behaviors.

07/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Pixel was resting in her cage upon approach. She opens her eyes when softly spoken to, but closes it again. Reaction to cage door opening: Pixel remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Pixel attempts to move away from the assessor’s hand, but allows petting and twitches when touched on her back. She starts to lip lick and tries to move away again. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Pixel tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
