During intake the cat moved slowly out of the carrier, bearing no weight on its injured leg. The cat was medium-hard body while collaring. The cat did rub its head against my hand before going back into the carrier on its own.” PINEAPPLE is still has a ways to go but he is on the mend and needs some help!! He has a wonderful AVERAGE rating and would love to be safe and sound in someone’s home and out of the dangerous world and the dangerous ACC…IF YOU FOSTER, THE RESCUE WILL TAKE CARE OF THE VET BILLS WHILE YOU TAKE CARE OF PINEAPPLE…..PLEASE SAVE HIM TONITE!!

EENT: OU clear, AU clean, No nasal d/c Oral cavity: MM pink, CRT <2sec, Healthy dentition PLN: left popliteal enlarged (size of large grape) H/L: No murmur or arrhythmias, Lungs clear ABD: Soft non painful U/G: MI, only one testicle (Left) palpated M/S: Non-weight bearing lameness of left hind leg BCS: 5/9 Neuro: NSF NOSF A: Left hind leg injury- r/o cat bite vs. other P: Gave 100mL SQ fluids Gave metacam injection (0.1mL) Continue Clavamox Re-eval wounds in 2 days- if no improvement then start on additional AB (azithromycin? baytril?) Possibility for amputation in the future if wounds not healing or worsening

Reaction to assessor: Pineapple looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Pinapple remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Pinapple hesitates during the stroke at first and began to retreat to the back of his cage. However, he then slowly leans into the assessor’s hand, rolls over in place and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He becomes antsy and jumps back into the cage. Placement determination: Average Pineapple interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
