PHYLLIS AND KITTENS – A1052878, A1052879, A1052880, A1052881
Safe 10-31-2015 Manhattan
**KITTENS ARE SAFE 10/31/15 – PHYLLIS (GONE 10/1/15) needs a NEW HOPE rescue group to save her tonight! The so-called “shelter” has sent out a plea a few days ago, in search of a New Hope rescue group to pull the entire family. It is unclear whether the kittens were pulled without Phyllis, or if the whole family is together and the shelter has randomly decided that it’s okay to kill the mom. Either scenario would come as no surprise, given the track record of the ACC. PHYLLIS is a frightened young mom who was having 2 litters a year until she was trapped and brought into the ACC. It is high time that she know what it’s like to be a loved family pet, but that only happens if a foster/adopter works with a NEW HOPE RESCUE to save her life, tonight!

09/26/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/26/15 18:45 Phyllis’s finders have seen her living outside for the past 2 years, having 2 litters of kittens per year. She runs away from people and doesn’t let anyone get near her. She was brought here in a trap. She was stiff with wide eyes. We transferred her without handling her and she walked into her carrier with a low body. She didn’t vocalize or attempt to flee. We didn’t attempt to scan or collar her and took her pictures in her carrier due to behavior. She sat crouched at the back of her kennel with wide eyes. Phyllis’s 3 kittens were picked up by their finders and brought here in a crate. Chloe and Nina hissed but allowed us to pick up, hold, and handle them-scan (-), collar, photograph, weigh, sex, and put into a kennel. Leila growled and only allowed us to scan (-) and sex her. She resisted and was attempting to flee. She would not hold still enough for us to collar or weigh her. We took her picture in her kennel, where she was retreated in the back.

09/29/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Phyllis looks tense in her cage whenm approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Phyllis remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert with a direct stare. Reaction to touch: Phyllis does not allow the stroke, slowly retreats to the back while eyes began to wander and low growls at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Phyllis is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
