12/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Perkson was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Perkson looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Perkson remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Perkson allows brief petting on his head, but shifts away and starts to hyper salivate. He lip smacks and remains in place to allow gentle petting, but he continues to salivate throughout the interaction. Placement Determination: Experience Perkson does not appear to be acclimating well in the shelter environment. He tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the care center. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Date: 12/08/15 Reaction to assessor: Perkson does not come to front but looks at you calm and friendly When spoken quietly: Perkson does not come to front but looks at you calm and friendly Reaction to door cage opening: Perkson remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: Perkson allows petting and attention Try picking cat up: Did not attempt due to wound Behavior Determination: Average Perkson was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying calm behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Perkson is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
