PENNY LANE – A1044431
7-20-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 07/20/15*** PENNY LANE AND HER 4 HOUSEMATES WERE DUMPED WHEN THEIR OWNER MOVED INTO AN APARTMENT WITH A NYC HOUSING AUTHORITY RESTRICTION – NOW PENNY LANE WILL BE THE FIRST TO DIE BECAUSE SHE IS HOMELESS!!! PENNY LANE is certainly not a song to be forgotten easily and neither is this super girl who was abandoned by her owner because she moved where cats are not allowed. Her housemates Ringo, Lennon, Jude and McCartney are all still in the shelter and not listed tonight. PENNY LANE is only a year and a half old and loves to sit on the window and watch the birds. Sadly her favorite pastime will be no more unless someone pulls her from the list tonight. She is EXPNOCHILD rated only because she is upset and frightened in the shelter but that will disappear with a new home, love and TLC. CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL PENNY LANE TO SAFETY AND DON’T FORGET ABOUT HER HOUSEMATES – MAYBE SHE WOULD DO WELL WITH A FRIEND!!!

07/17/15 17:21 Basic information Penny lane A1044431, Ringo A1044432, Lennon A1044433, Mccartney A1044434, and Jude A1044435 are being surrendered because the owner can no longer care for them. She is moving and cannot take them with her. Socialization Penny, Ringo, Lennon, Mccartney, and Jude are all shy around strangers. They are indoor cats and have not been out of the house. They are rarely around people. They play well with each other. The owner describes them as calm, relaxed, and very independent. She says that they are litter box trained but because of the overcrowding, they would go potty out of the box if it is dirty. They enjoy sitting on the window sill and looking at birds. They know commands(get down, relax, stop, and off). She has never given them a bath but she does wipe them down with a cloth when she brushes them. She says that they will even take food out of your hand very gently and they each love attention and petting. They were being fed meow mix dry cat food and friskies wet food. Behavior during intake Penny, Ringo, Lennon, Mccartney, and Jude were very calm during the intake. They allowed to be transferred into a kennel, in which they allowed to be scanned(-), collared and pet. They retreated to the back of the kennel but allowed to be taken out. They stayed calm for pictures and were easy to handle.

07/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Penny Lane was at the back of the cage, alert upon approach. When softly spoken to, she focuses on the assessor with wide eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Penny Lane remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Penny Lane curls up and tries to avoid touch, but allows stroke on her head and remains immobile. She is shaking during the interaction and hisses when touched on her lower back, but displayed no further reaction. As per previous owner, Penny Lane is shy around strangers. She has always been indoors and is rarely around people. She plays well with the other cats in the home and is described as calm, relaxed, and very independent. Penny Lane knows commands like get down, relax, stop, and off. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Penny Lane tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
