*****PEANUTS IS A GORGEOUS ORANGE BOY WHO HAS A WOUNDED LEFT PAW – BUT DUE TO HIS FEAR – THE ACC HASN’T TREATED IT, AND NOW THEY ARE KILLING HIM!***** PEANUTS is very scared and was trying his best to get away from the staff when he was brought into the ACC. Can you blame him? He knows this is not the place to be if you want to make it! PEANUTS has a wounded left front paw but they did not try and treat him as he was not allowing handling. PEANUTS may be a very lost or abandoned pet and he is in good health otherwise. This kitty will need a rescue to pull as he is NEW HOPE rated due to his fear. Even the staff stated that he is afraid – he will need some time to decompress but once out of this traumatic place this beautiful boy will be just fine. GIVE PEANUTS A CHANCE TO LIVE AND CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY. WE HAVE SEEN MANY A NEW HOPE RATED CAT DO AN ABOUT FACE AS SOON AS THEY ARE NOT AFRAID ANY LONGER. SAVE A CAT TONIGHT!!!

03/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Peanuts was brought to the shelter as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. He seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment Peanuts was displaying behaviors that prevent placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: was hiding when I approach cage (3) When spoken quietly: continues to hide (3) Reaction to door cage opening: becomes stiff, alert (3) Reaction to touch: does not allows petting at all (5) Reaction to toy or novel object: retreats(5) Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up,very fearful. Placement Determination: New Hope
