PAULIE – A1051359
Gone 9-29-2015 Brooklyn
**GONE 09/29/15** SECOND CHANCE FOR PURRFECT PAULIE!! PAULIE was brought into the ACC in a big ol’ carrier, along with some of his BFFs, (YERT-WATERFALL-XANADU-UMBERTO-LUCY-FANNY-PAULIE -NATALE) when their former owner was hospitalized. That was back on September 13th, and the shelter let him be scared and get sick before they evaluated his personality on the 21st. Despite his nerves and not feeling his best, this pretty tabby chap earned an outstanding EXPERIENCE rating and revealed that he loves a good butt scratch! If he is doing that well in the shelter, imagine how well he will likely be once he settles into a FOSTER or ADOPTIVE home! This is a lovely boy who does NOT deserve to die a painful death, simply because his former owner became ill. Please advocate fiercely for PAULIE, tonight!

09/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Paulie was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was brought in with numerous other cats and was nervous upon intake. He was slightly difficult to handle due to the fact that she was brought in with multiple cats in a large carrier. He allowed all handling during his initial medical exam, but attempted to flee due to fear. Please note that Paulie is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Reaction to Assessor: Paulie remains calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Paulie lowers his eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Paulie remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Paulie was hesitant, but remains in place for petting. He lifts his butt when pet on his lower back, but blinks throughout the interaction and is wary of the assessor’s hand. Placement Determination: Experience Paulie tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
