Social Life and Personality: Around strangers Patches is shy for a few minutes then warms up to them. Patches has never been around dogs or children so it is unknown how she reacts to them. When Patches plays she is very gentle. Patches has been around other cats of various ages and is relaxed around them. When she plays with other cats she is gentle. Patches has never bitten another person or animal. Behavior: Patches previous owner has never given them a bath or trimmed her nails.Patches enjoys having her coat brushed and doesn’t mind when she is being put into a carrier or being disturbed while sleeping.Patches struggles whenever someone tries to hold or carry her. For a New Family to Know: Patches previous owner describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident and quiet, Patches activity level is high and she like to spend time in her favorite spot at home. Patches likes to sit in front of windows and watch everything that goes by. Patches lies to play with Balls, stuffed toys and chasing toys. Patches is an indoor cat only and sleeps where she feels most comfortable. Patches eats wet food from the brand Friskies twice a day. Patches is litter box trained and uses clumping litter in an uncovered litter box. Patches likes to use a scratching post made of carpet. Behavior during intake Patches and her sister Bianca were both shy and fearful. Bianca was very vocal but allowed handling. Patches came out of her carrier on her own and was quiet and relaxed. They both retreated to the back of the kennel. They were both easy to handle.

Reaction to door opening: Patches remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Patches rubs on the assessor’s hand, rolls over, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Beginner Patches interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
