***SAFE 04/27/15*** NEUTERED “STRAY” BOY, A RARE POLYDACTYL, IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY WITH A GOOD BEHAVIOR RATING, BUT THE ACC WILL KILL HIM ANYWAY – PLEASE GRANT PARROT A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Handsome brown tabby and white boy PARROT, a rare six-toed POLYDACTYL fellow, finds himself betrayed and stuffed into the kill-happy ACC as a NEUTERED “STRAY”. Parrot entered the ACC along with his best fur-friend PUFFIN (A1033813, still available in Urgent album), but it’s obvious that poor Parrot is a lost or abandoned pet kitty, as he weighs a hefty 14.6 pounds and entered the shelter FREE of fleas and ear mites. Parrot allowed all handling, earning a very good EXPNOCHILD behavior rating, but the ACC will KILL him at noon tomorrow, despite the fact that Parrot is PERFECTLY HEALTHY! Polydactyl kitties are supposed to bring good luck to their owners, so grab this charming lad before it’s too late. Please save Parrot (and his friend Puffin too)! Start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt sweet polydactyl boy PARROT! if you can’t save PARROT yourself, please SHARE his sad story and PLEDGE for his rescue!

04/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Parrot was crouched in the back of the cage, focused on the assessor. When softly spoken to, he looks away from the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Parrot remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Parrot becomes stiff and tense, but allows stroke on his head and back. He remains immobile, starts to breathe rapidly, and his ears bend sideways. Note: Parrot was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was tense and had dilated pupils upon intake. The finder reported he was nervous around them at first, but warmed up and allowed handling. During his initial medical exam, he became more nervous and tried to flee. This may be due fear and being exposed to a foreign environment. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Parrot tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
