PAPI CHULO – A1044302
7-20-2015 Manhattan
****GONE 07/20/15**** Papi Chulo is sad and lost. His human is undergoing cancer treatments and can no longer care for him. She received him as a gift 9 years ago and he has been with her ever since. So to be separated from her is devestating for him. Papi Chulois shy with new people, he played gently with his human, loved being brushed, petted, loved on. He is an easy going guy, he even is relaxed in a car, while taking a bath and getting his nails trimmed. Papi Chulo likes to have conversations sometimes with his humans. How endearing is that???? It is sad to think that Papi Chulo will not be around after tomorrow if he does not find his forever home. Papi Chulo is only 10 years old, he’s got some great years left in him. Don’t let this amazing guy leave this earth with his last home being the ACC. Share him for a new home before it is too late. Papi Chulo is counting on you, don’t let him down.

07/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/16/15 19:49 BASIC INFO Papi Chulo’s owner got him as a gift 9 years ago and surrendered him because she’s undergoing cancer treatment and is no longer able to care for him. SOCIALIZATION Papi is shy with new people. He plays gently with his owner and has never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Papi is relaxed in the car. He sometimes enjoys being brushed, picked up and held, and pet while sleeping, but other times he walks away. He doesn’t mind when someone bathes him, trims his nails, or puts him in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Papi’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, talkative, and medium energy. She likes that when he comes up to her and meows, it sounds like he’s saying “Ma…” Papi Chulo spent all of his time following his owner and sitting in her lap. He plays with balls and stuffed toys. He lived inside and slept in a baby cradle. He ate dry and wet food. He’s littertrained and didn’t have accidents. He used a hooded litterbox with clumping litter. He scratched the couch but never had a scratching post. INTAKE Papi walked into his kennel and allowed me to pet and scan him (-). He hissed when I began to collar him. We took his picture in his kennel.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Papi Chulo was inside a hidey box upon approach. When softly spoken to, he blinks and focuses on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Papi Chula remains stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Papi Chulo moves away from the assessor’s hand to try and avoid interaction. When trying to pet, he hisses, starts to growl, and swats at the hand when it gets near him. As per previous owner, Papi Chulo is shy with new people. He plays gently with his owner and has never bitten anyone. He enjoys being brushed, picked up and held, and pet while sleeping sometimes, and will walk away if he doesn’t. They describe him as friendly, affectionate, playful, shy, and talkative with a medium energy level. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Papi Chulo is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
