PANTHER – A1046220
8-15-2015 Staten Island Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
***SAFE 08/15/15*** PANTHER IS A 5 YEAR OLD WITH AN OLD FRACTURE ON HIS JAW AND IS AFRAID IN THE SHELTER AND THAT IS ALL THE ACC NEEDED TO WHISK THIS EBONY KITTY TO THE EUTH LIST! PANTHER came into the shelter as a stray so nothing is known of his background. He does however have what looks to be an old fracture but it doesn’t stop him from having a good appetite or eating. PANTHER also has a cold so all this put together is the ACC’s excuse to add him to their list of statistics. PANTHER is afraid but we don’t know if he is a lost pet or has ever been in a home. But that doesn’t matter- he should still get the chance to live and have a happy ending to his story. If you can help PANTHER tonight, please give this boy a death row pardon by contacting a rescue now to pull him to safety!!!

08/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Panther came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home, or to his previous situation. He has displayed consistently fearful behavior in the care center, trying to flee with each interaction. Reaction to assessor: Panther is hiding in his cat den. He cannot be coaxed out. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains hiding in the den. Reaction to touch: When the assessor extends her hand, Panther tries to flee to the back of the den. He does not allow any touch or handling. Placement determination: New Hope Only Panther is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. He may be poorly socialized to humans, or may have developed negative associations with humans. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
