07/19/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/19/15 11:41 Basic Information: Panchito is an altered declawed 10 year old domestic short hair with an orange tabby pattern. The owner got Panchito from someone giving newly born kittens and is being surrendered because the owner cannot have Panchito in the home he is moving into. Panchito has not been to a vet recently but has known injuries or health problems. Social Life and Personality: Panchito has lived with 2 adults and one child. The child is 2 1/2 years old. Panchito is respectful of the child and does not play with her. Panchito lived with another cat. He was relaxed and respectful of her. They were often found sleeping together. They could be gentle and exuberant during play together. He has never been around dogs to know his behavior with them. He uses his litter box and does not have accidents outside the box. He has been kept indoors and has a low activity level. His owner describes him as confident, mellow, assertive, affectionate, quiet, and independent. Behavior: The owner has not given Panchito a bath. He struggles when picked up or held. He is not bothered when placed in a carrier or when woken up from sleep. When pet or brushed, Panchito tolerates it for a little bit but will bite the brush or hand to stop. For a New Family to Know: Panchito is used to clay litter inside a hooded litter box. The box was scooped daily and changed weekly. HE sometimes plays with toy mice. When he is home he usually is found in his favorite spot. He meows during car rides but then relaxes. He is used to being free fed dry cat food. He likes hard cat treats. He sleeps on or under the bed. Intake Behavior: Panchito sat in the back of his carrier with diluted eyes. When the carrier door was opened he walked forward and aloud to be scanned and collared. He was not taken out of the carrier for photos to prevent further stress.

07/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Panchito was calm and relaxed upon approach. He meows softly and rolls onto his side when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Panchito remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Panchito head-butts and pushes the assessor’s hand with his nose. He appreciates touch on his head, but becomes stiff and watches the assessor’s hand when touched on his back. He hisses and swats at the assessor to warn of sensitivity each time the assessor touches him on his back, but continues to solicit attention by head-butting. As per previous owner, Panchito has lived with two adults and one child. He is respectful of the child, but does not play. He has also lived with another cat, and he was relaxed and respectful around her. He was gentle and exuberant during play, and was often found sleeping with her. He is described as confident, mellow, assertive, affectionate, quiet, and independent with a low activity level. He struggles when picked up or held. Panchito tolerates being pet or brushed for a little bit, but will bite the brush or hand to stop. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Panchito solicits attention and tolerates petting but may not like being pet on certain areas of his body. Due to his tendency to nip and/or swat to prevent petting on his back, we feel that this cat will do best in a home without children.
