***SAFE 10/29/15*** PANCAKE IS MOST LIKELY A LOST CAT, AND DUE TO DIE WITHOUT YOUR HELP! She was ‘found trying to hide in a candy cart at a train station” and now this gentle and anxious girl, who has no idea why she’s in a cold steel place is scheduled to die tomorrow without your help. Chances are very good that someone is looking for PANCAKE, her behavior bespeaks a cat that is scared to death and has never been outside. How she would up in a train station no one knows but what we do know is that PANCAKE was picked up by her rescuer, put into a carrier easily and taken to ACC. She allowed handling, and then, realizing this was a scary place, became a little growly, not unusual. Now PANCAKE desperately needs you to help her, save her life…fostering will do this. She’s a nice cat who may well have someone looking for her-it does not note which train station but once saved the search for her person could begin–they may not be city based or know about ACC’s policy…please give this sweet girl a chance at life by offering to save her! SAVE PANCAKE NOW!!!!

10/21/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/21/15 15:42 Pancake was found trying to hide at a candy cart outside of a train station. Pancake allowed his finder to pick her up, put her into a carrier, and bring her to ACC. Pancake had a soft body while we pet, scanned (-), collared, positioned for pictures, picked up, and took her in and out of her kennel. She ate wet food that we gave her. She jumped on the floor and began growling very quietly when she saw another cat, but had a soft body and stopped vocalizing while I picked her up. She was easy to handle and didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize (except when she saw the other cat).

10/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Pancake was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder found her hiding at a candy cart outside of a train station and was able to pick her up, put her in a carrier, and bring her to the care center. She has a soft body upon intake and allowed the counselors to handle her. She began to growl softly when seeing another cat, but stopped vocalizing when the counselor picked her up. Reaction to assessor: Pancake was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Pancake seems curious and sniffs around. Reaction to cage door opening: Pancake remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Pancake was a little hesitant, but allows brief touch on her head. She begins to whine and pats the assessor’s hand with her paws multiple times and retreats to the back of the cage to sit down calmly. She would growl and whine when attempting to pet her again, and would bat the hand again when touched. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Pancake tolerates brief attention and may be stressed in the shelter. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
