09/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Otter was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. Otter seems to not be thriving in this environment. At the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front, body flat and tense When spoken quietly: does not come to front , body flat and tense Reaction to door cage opening: becomes alert Reaction to touch: hisses, tries to avoid touch ,does not allows petting Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up otter due to fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
