06/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Oscar was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, she starts to groom herself and ignores the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Oscar remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Oscar head-butts the assessor’s hand when pet on her head, but whines and flicks her head around when touched near her lower back. She doesn’t become defensive, but may be uncomfortable with touch in that area. When pet on her head again, she begins to purr and closes her eyes. Reaction to being picked up: Oscar remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Experience Oscar tolerates attention and petting but may be particular with touch on certain parts of her body. Due to her reaction to handling during the medical exam and her willingness to strike out to avoid handling in certain situations, we feel that placement with experienced cat adopters is in Oscar’s best interest.
