Medical Summary
Scan neg. intact male – 2 testicles palpable prescrotally approx. 6 weeks old, sl. lethargic licked at kitten food when placed in front of him BCS = 2-3/9 EENT = OD: crusted shut with dried mucopurulent discharge. When removed (flushed with eye wash), a large amount of tan/cream discharge oozed out of eye socket – some chunky debris as well. OS: crusted shut with mild mp discharge – when removed, moderate to severe amount of chemosis and conjunctivitis present. Globe was seen however. clean ears, nnd, deciduous teeth present – most of teeth fully erupted. mm = pink hydration = prolonged skin tenting – likely 5% dehydrated Integ = large (approx. 3 cm in diameter) round, alopecic region on top of head. Mild scabbing present at the top. Warm to touch. Dirty front paws. Abdomen = snp, moderately filled bladder LN = wnl CNS = appropriate A: Abscess poss. ruptured globe, OD Conjunctivitis OS Px: Fair to good P: Gave approx. 10 mL LRS SQ Flushed out eyes with eye wash and applied erythromycin OU During exam, scabs fell off of top of head and oozed a large amount of purulent, blood tinged discharged. Left open for drainage. Will start buprenex 0.015mg/kg PO BID x 3 days Started Augmentin 0.1 mL PO BID x 10 days. New Hope must be notified Recheck tomorrow
