*** GONE 08/07/15 *** OCTAVIAN IS THE VICTIM OF A TRAPPER THAT DOESN’T LIKE CATS IN THEIR YARD…Instead of using some of the humane deterrents on the market, this person just traps cats and brings them to the shelter totally unconcerned about their fate…OCTAVIAN is just a young guy who has probably been on his own most of his life and now has a New Hope rating because he is overwhelmed by being in the shelter…..PLEASE HELP A NEW HOPE RESCUE PULL OCTAVIAN BY OFFERING TO FOSTER!! 08/01/15 08:18 Octavian A1046197 is a young unknown gender at the moment brown tabby DSH feline who was trapped in the finder’s yard. They bring in cats that wander their yard and use it as a litter box. Octavian hasn’t been handled besides being brought into our BXAC in the wooden trap. During intake Octavian walked out of the trap slowly into the carrier then ran towards the back of it, then attempted to flee. He/she was attempting to hide/escape from said carrier once inside. We weren’t able to collar, scan or handle him/her for pictures.

Reaction to assessor: Octavian looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Octavain remains crouched down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wandering, yowling in place. Reaction to touch: Octavain avoids contact, panics in place, yowls, and growls at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Octavian is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
