*** GONE 10/05/15***TERRIFIC TABBY RETURNED AND NEEDS NEW FRIEND-BE NUGGET’S HERO! Sad sigh! Six year old Nugget is another faithful feline friend betrayed by her former folks. Nugget was adopted out of the ACC six years ago when she was a kitten only to be returned there on 9/25 when her owners decided to move and not take her along. She is a lovely lady, a brown tabby with an adorable white vest, who is used to living with other cats, spayed and used to live as a pampered housepet. She is healthy, playful and would love a new snuggler partner. Could that special someone be you? Please reserve Nugget online or let a rescue know if you can help. Transportation is available if you live within a few hours of NYC (to adopt) and no more than an hour out of town for fosters. Won’t you please open up your heart and home to this terrific tabby?

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Owner Profile: Nugget was bought into the care center due to the previous owner moving out of country. Nugget has not lived with children or dogs and behavior remains unknown towards them. Nugget lived with two other cats and was relaxed and respectful towards them. Nugget loved to play with one of her housemates and enjoyed cuddling with her. Nugget is litter box trained and is usually kept indoors. Nugget was described as quiet and independent with a low activity level. Notes: Nugget at the time of the assessment was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices she relaxed a little and I was able to pet her and interact with her in a limited way. I was also able to pick her up and although she was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: remains motionless Reaction to touch: seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Nugget is tolerant of this type of handling but tense.
