10/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
10/10/15 Behavior: Experience / no child Initially Nubia solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body she begins to swat at the assessor. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Nubia becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention. Reaction to touch: Nubia head-butts the assessor’s hand, purrs in place, and appreciates petting on the head and body. However, when petted for to long she becomes overly aroused and begins to swat to stop the touch. 10/07/15 Behavior: Average Nubia is very friendly around strangers. He plays exuberantly and gently with both adults and children. She lived with a dog before and played fine with him. She likes to be around other cats but sometimes her strong personalities can cause conflict. Reaction to assessor: Nubia looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Nubia remains at the front of the cage, soliciting attention. Reaction to Being Picked up: She calmly jumps back into her cage.
