***SAFE 08/17/15*** NOEL and brother were surrendered due to their owner being evicted. And were with the same owner since 6 weeks of age. So you can imagine that the 2 year old is scared and confused as to why he is stuck at the ACC facing DEATH! NOEL has been with children newborn to 9 years of age and around cats as well. He HAS NOT been socialized with dogs. Despite being in the shelter, NOEL has earned himself an AVERAGE rating. I am a male white and org tabby domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 2 YEARS old.

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 07/31/2015 from NY 10472, owner surrender reason stated was OWN EVICT. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-025157.

07/31/15 12:15 Mojo A1046056 & Noel A1046057 are 2yr old brothers DSH felines who were given to the owner by a friend when they were 6wks old and are being surrendered due to the owner going through personal problems. They haven’t been to a veterinarian and neither have any injuries. According to the owner Noel has a mild form of hypoplasia. Socialization: Around strangers Mojo & Noel are friendly/outgoing. They lived with children ages newborn-9yrs old. They’re gentle and exuberant with children, adults and other cats. Their play style with adults, children & other cats is relaxed/affectionate & respectful. They haven’t been around dogs. They haven’t bitten/scratched any person or animal. Behavior: During car rides Noel enjoys it but Mojo will cry/meow. They struggle during bath time. They aren’t bothered by having their nails trimmed. They enjoy being brushed. Noel loves being picked up/held but Mojo doesn’t like to be picked up by children. Noel doesn’t mind being placed into a carrier but Mojo struggles to get away. Neither have been disturbed while sleeping/resting. For a New Family to Know: Mojo & Noel are both described as friendly, affectionate, playful and are scared of loud noises. Their activity level is medium-high. Mojo enjoys laying on the window and looking outside, Noel likes to play. When the owner is home they follow them around. Mojo & Noel enjoy ball, catnip, mouse & string toys. They are indoor only cats who sleep where ever they choose. They eat Nine Lives wet & dry food. They use their hooded litter box with Fresh Step litter. Mojo & Noel uses a carpet scratching post. Intake Behavior: During intake Mojo & Noel allowed all handling. They allowed us to scan (-), collar and take their pictures. They allowed us to pet them and they had soft bodies.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Noel was calm and relaxed upon approach. He slowly comes to the front, meows softly, and tries to sniff the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Noel remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Noel head-butts lightly, remains in place for petting, and rubs his cheeks against the assessor’s hand. Reaction to being picked up: Noel remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, is friendly and outgoing around strangers. He is gently and exuberant with children, adults, and other cats. His play style is always relaxed, affectionate, and respectful. Noel loves being picked up/ held and enjoys being brushed. He can be described as friendly, affectionate, and playful with a medium-high activity level. Behavior Determination: Average Noel interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
