10/27/15 12:04 BASIC INFO Nino A1056133 is an 8 month old domestic shorthair cat. He is being surrendered to the shelter because the landlord does not allow pets in the home. Owner has had for 6 months, and Nino was a gift from friends. Nino appears to have some scabbing behind both ears. SOCIALIZATION Nino is friendly around strangers, after he warms up to you. Nino has not lived with any children. He plays gently with adults. Nino has not lived with any other animal. Nino has never bitten or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Nino does not have any behavior issues. He has never been in a car. Nino does not have any litterbox problems. He allows you to pet him and carry him. Nino is not bothered when being placed in a box. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Nino is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a medium activity level. At home, he follows you around. He likes to play with string toys and balls. He has been kept mostly indoors. The cat sleeps in a kitty bed. He eats any brand dry cat food. He uses a regular litterbox with Fresh Step litter. He uses the corner of the mattress to scratch on as he did not have a scratching post. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Nino was a bit fearful and stood close to the ground. Once placed in kennel, he gave the Counselor, the gentlest head bump to solicit attention, and allowed to be collared.

Nino’s former owner stated he is friendly around strangers, after he warms up to you. Nino has not lived with any children. He plays gently with adults. Nino has not lived with any other animal. Also, he is best described as friendly, affectionate and playful. He has a medium activity level. Reaction to assessor: Nino immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Nino remains standing at the front of the cage, relaxed body posture, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Nino head-butts the assessor’s hand, purrs in place, and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Beginner Nino interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
