***SAFE 09/10/15*** ADORABLE NINO has found himself in a place where he’s never been. He’s not sure why but he knows he just wants to go home! The NEUTERED,6 years old was surrendered due to financial reasons. NINO had been socialized with kids, cats and a MALTESE and said to be gentle and tolerant of all! He’s been friendly,relaxed and calm during assessment and has earned himself an AVERAGE rating! Please offer to FOSTER or ADOPT this GREAT guy!

08/22/15 13:35 Basic Information Nino was brought in as an owner surrender, due to owner having financial issues. Owner has had Tuffy since he was a kitten, and says he has no injuries or health concerns. When asked two things he likes most about Nino owner chose that he is shy and relaxed. Personality & Behavior Nino is described as shy and aloof with a low-mid level activity level. Owner says he lived with children ages 6,7,11, and 12. Owners say Nino was playful and tolerant with the children and was gentle during play. Nino also lived with a Maltese, and owner says he was tolerant with him and occasionally playful. With the other cat he lives with Nino is described as being affectionte and loving with her. Owners say Nino is litter-box trained and does well with it, having no accidents. Owner says he hasn’t had any issues with Nino biting anyone or another animal. Nino is said to be unbothered and listens when told to get off of furniture. Owner says Nino doesn’t like baths and will struggle to get out for the entire time. For a New Family to Know According to owner, Nino does not play with toys much anymore, but will occasionally play with string. When home Nino usually stays to himself, and is calm and well-behaved when home alone. Nino is said to be unbotherd when hearing loud invasive noises. Nino was fed both wet and dry food and usually slept under owner’s couch. Behavior during Intake Nino was very afraid during intake. His ears were flattened and he had dilated pupils. Once taken out of owner’s carrier Nino repeatedly attempted to run. Despite being afraid, Nino still allowed all handling and showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Reaction to assessor: Nino was calm, relaxed, and friendly upon approach. He comes to the front and sniffs the assessor’s hand when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Nino remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Nino remains in place for petting, lightly head-butts, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Nino remains calm and allows handling. As per previous owner, Nino has lived with children and is playful, tolerant, and gentle during play. He has also lived with a Maltese, and he is tolerant around him and is occasionally playful. He is affectionate and loving with the cat he lived with. According to the owner, Nino does not play with toys much anymore, but will occasionally play with string. He was described as shy and aloof with a low-medium activity level. Behavior Determination: Average Nino interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
