NINO – A1037912
6-17-2015 Manhattan
**GONE 06/17/15** NINO is a 3-year-old boy who can only be pulled by a NEW HOPE rescue group tonight, because his former owner accused Nino of a memorable leg scratch. That person didn’t even bother to fill out an owner surrender sheet for Nino, but they do seem to have taken very good care of him. Nino earned an Experience rating from the ACC, but because of the alleged scratching incident, he can only be saved by a New Hope rescue group. Please advocate far and wide for this boy, who right now, has no one…..

When touched had stiff body and when outside the carrier he would attempt to flee. Inside new carrier he retreated to the back and when given food was not interested in eating. Nino was brought to the shelter because he has bitten and scratched the owner on the leg causing medical care to be seeked. During the tie with the owner he was not around any children or animals so his behaviors are unknown. He is litter box trained using a covered box with clumping litter.

06/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Nino does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside his cage. When softly spoken to, he looks at the assessor and slowly blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Nino remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Nino seems indifferent to touch; he remains in place for petting and his ears bend slightly sideways. Behavior Determination: Experience Nino tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
