BASIC INFORMATION
Nina is a Spayed, black and white, domestic short hair cat about 4 years old. Own is surrendering her cat due to allergies. She received Nina in October and since then her allergies has worsened. Nina was a gift from a friend that could no longer have Nina because he was moving.
SOCIALIAZTION
Nina is friendly and approaches everyone that comes over the house. She approaches stranger and sniffs their hands. When family member come around she sit on their lap and seeks attention. When children are around Nina is relax and observant as they play. When children pet her she enjoys gentle strokes and being held. Nina has never been around other dogs or cats.
BEHAVIOR
Nina is declawed. Nina is gentle and tolerant. She does not mind being brushed, placed in the carrier or moved off furniture. She has never had a bath nor had her nails trimmed. She sleeps most of the time she is left alone.
FOR NEW FAMILIES TO KNOW
Owner describes Nina as affection, gentle and curious. She loves company and to sleep. She follows owner around the house. She is an indoor cat but always on her own adventures in the house. She is litter box trained and never has accidence. Nina enjoys playing with mouse toy and strings. She likes Meow Mix and tuna. Since she is declawed she does not have a scratching post. However when she does get the sensation to scratch she goes to a suite case. Nina enjoys sleeping on furniture or next to owner’s bed.
BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE
Nina came in a carrier. She was soft and relaxed during intake. She allowed counselor to take her out of the carrier. She was silent and sniffed counselor’s hand. She sniffed the cat food and allowed to be collar, photographed and scanned (negative).
