5-6-2015 Manhattan Rescue: ***SAFE*** Pulled by Anjellicle Cats Rescue- Donation link: http://bit.ly/NikkiA1034578 Please honor your pledges:
** SAFE 05/06/15** Declawed sweetheart NIKKI is totally lost at the shelter; she is rattled enough that she gave the ACC the impression that she deserved an EXPNOCHILD rating, despite having lived happily with two young children for the past couple of years. Nikki weighs a whopping 17 pounds and is supremely huggable. Check out her biography to see exactly how loveable she is (hint: she sounds perfect) and then make sure to find a foster/adoptive home for her, tonight!

Nikki has been with her owner since she was 1 years old, her front paws are declawed, owner is surrendering due to he moved into a new place that does not accept pets in building.. Nikki needs time to warm up to strangers, when she feels comfortable, she likes to be petted, wipe down with baby wipes and brushed often. Nikki has only been fed dry food, which is left out all day for her to nibble when she feels hungry. Nikki has never been around dogs, so her behavior around dogs is unknown. Nikki loves to sit up high on things, she always uses the litter box. she likes to sleep a lot but is not bothered if she is waken out of her sleep. 05/01/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Nikki’s front paws are declawed. Reaction to assessor: Nikki looks neutral in her cage when approched by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Nikki remains lying down on her cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Nikki sniff the assessor’s hand and engages slowly then accepts the stroke, but randomly hisses during the touch. However, she began to purr in place and appreciates petting on the head and body. Placement determination: Experience / no child Nikki tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
