09/30/15 17:46 Basic Information: Nia is a one year old female domestic short har female cat. Social Life and Personality: Nia has been around children ages 8 and 9. Around them she is relaxed and affectionate. When she plays with them she is gentle. Nia has been around one other cat who she did not get along with. Around that cat Nia would hiss and swat. Nia has never been around any dogs so it is unknown how she would react to being around them. Nia is litter box trained and has been kept indoors only. Nia was described as playful, confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, aloof, talkative and affectionate. Behavior Issues: Nia tends to claw on the furniture but other wise has good behavior. Nia has never aggressivly bitten another person. Nia would bite the other cat that was in her home when they were put together. Nia would struggle whenever she was given a bath. Nia’s previous owner never attempted to trim her nails, brush her coat, or disturb her while she is sleeping so it is unknown how she would react to thos e situations. Nia enjoys being picked up and held and doesn’t mind being putt in a carrier. For a New Family to Know: Nia uses clumping litter in an uncovered litterbox. Nia likes to play with wand toys and stuffed toys. Nia likes scratching on furniture and will follow you around at home. When Nia plays with you she s gentle. Nia will meow when she rides in a car. Nia has eaten both wet and dry food from the brands meow mix, nine lives, purina and Iams twice a day.Nia like to go to sleep in a her own bed. Intake Behavior: Nia allowed staff to collar, scan for a microchip, and take pictures with no signs of aggression.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Nia’s former owner stated she has been around children ages 8 and 9. Around them she is relaxed and affectionate. When she plays with them she is gentle. Nia has been around one other cat who she did not get along with. Around that cat Nia would become defensive. Nia was described as playful, confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, aloof, talkative and affectionate. Reaction to assessor: Nia immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Nia remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Nia places her head down with her forelegs bent, and raises her hindquarters and tail. Also, appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm. Placement determination: Experience Please be advised that Nia seems to be in heat at the time of assessment, and the behavior presented at the time of evaluation may differ when the heat cycle is complete due to a change in hormonal balance.
