06/17/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/17/15 19:53 Basic Information: Nero is a 2yr old neutered male domestic short haired cat that has no past or current medical issues that they are aware of. Social Life & Personality: Nero has never been around children and isn’t sure how he will respond in the presence of of a child. Nero does well with other cats and plays with them in a gentle manner. The owner isn’t sure how he will act in the presence of a dog due to never having one for him to interact with. Nero is litter box trained and is an indoor only cat. Nero is described to be friendly, playful, and affectionate with a high activity level. Behavior Issues: The owner isn’t sure how Nero will respond to recieving a bath or having his nails trimmed due to never attempting to do either to him. However he does like having his coat brushed and this can be done without issue. He likes to be held and takes well to being put into a cat carrier for transport. For a New Family to Know: Nero was brought up using a mix of walnut litter and regular clay litter with a hooded litter box. He enjoys all sorts of cat toys and will play with just about anything according to the owner. Nero did have a scratching post that the owner constructed for him and he used it pretty often. When in the home Nero is the type to follow you around seeking attention. When interacting with humans he plays in a gentle manner. He seems to ejoy car rides and doesn’t display any change in behavior when in the car. Nero was brought up eating both wet and dry food. The brands the owner gave was Fancy Fiest.

06/20/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Does not come to the front but remains neutral. (2) Reaction to being spoken to quietly: Remains neutral. (3) Reaction to cage door opening: Becomes stiff. (3) Reaction to touch: Moves away from touch but allows it. (2) Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt, cat appears stressed. Notes: Nero came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who described him as playful, friendly and affectionate, and was friendly at the time of intake and initial medical exam. At the time of the assessment, Nero is displaying fearful behavior. He avoids interaction with the assessor and tolerates handling.
