Nene was bought into the care center due the previous owner having allergies. Around children Nene is affectionate and plays gently. He is fearful with strangers at first and can take some time to warm up. Around other cats he is tolerant and plays exhuberantly. Nene hasnt been around dogs, He is litterbox trained and exclusivley uses the litterbox. He has been kept mostly indoors and is described as having a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Nene does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Nene does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Nene remains retreats Reaction to touch: Nene seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Nene is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Nene was displaying timid behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little.I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
