*** SAFE 06/13/15 *** RARE SECOND CHANCE FOR THIS SENIOR GIRL – PLEASE MAKE IT COUNT!!! “GENTLE, AFFECTIONATE, PLAYFUL” 12-YEAR-OLD SENIOR, DUMPED FOR “COST”, IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY BUT WILL NOW DIE DUE TO HER FEAR – PLEASE GRANT NALA A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Twelve-year-old senior gray tuxie girl NALA, dumped into the kill-happy ACC due to “COST”, is HEARTBROKEN over her betrayal, but at home this gentle elder-cat was PURRFECT: “Nala has lived with 1 adult but has also interacted with children 7 years of age and lower. She is usually tolerant around children, but isn’t playful with them. She is gentle when she plays with her owner. She has also lived with a kitten when she was about 3 years old, and was relaxed, affectionate, and played gently with the kitten. She is a moderately active indoor only cat who has been described as somewhat playful, shy, mellow, quiet, smart, and independent.” Poor Nala is TERRIFIED, so the ACC PUNISHED her with New Hope Only and fast-tracked her to the noon kill list for tomorrow, despite the fact that Nala is PERFECTLY HEALTHY! Please share our outrage and share this sensational but scared senior gal to safety before it’s too late! Start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt betrayed senior NALA from the approved New Hope rescue groups! If you can’t save NALA yourself, please SHARE her sad story and PLEDGE for her rescue!

06/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Nala does not come to the front but looks neutral inside her cage. When softly spoken to, her eyes wander and she looks around away from the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Nala becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Nala does not allow touch; she shifts away from the assessor’s hand and begins to hiss and growl. When attempting to pet her, she swats and hisses at the hand, and then retreats to the back of the cage. As per previous owner, Nala has lived with 1 adult but has also interacted with children 7 years of age and lower. She is usually tolerant around children, but isn’t playful with them. She is gentle when she plays with her owner. She has also lived with a kitten when she was about 3 years old, and was relaxed, affectionate, and played gently with the kitten. She is a moderately active indoor only cat who has been described as somewhat playful, shy, mellow, quiet, smart, and independent. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Nala is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat, scratch, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
