I am an unaltered female, gray Domestic Shorthair.
The shelter staff think I am about 13 weeks old.
I was found in NY 11435.
I have been at the shelter since Jun 29, 2015.
Scan negative
pink, sl. tacky mm
EENT = clear OU, scab on lateral AD at base, clean AU; nnd; full set of deciduous teeth
H/L = purring, difficult to auscult; patient intermittently coughs
Abdomen = snp, nmp, small bladder
Integ = large (approx. 1 cm wide) open wound on ventral aspect of proximal tail – large maggot infestation
Tail is fractured at distal 1/3 aspect and hanging by necrotic tissue. The distal tip of the remaining tail has soft tissue exposure with bright pink tissue and maggots crawling over it.
GU = intact female
LN = wnl
MS = all limbs are mobile and patient can sit upright, however patient did not attempt to walk.
CNS = appropriate, BAR. very sweet.
A; Tail fracture, tail wound
Px: Guarded
P: Spoke to New Hope about placement – patient needs to have tail amputation ASAP.
Until full extent of the wound is explored, patient will have a 7 PM deadline
Will attempt to flush out maggots and clean out wound
Gave 1 capstar
Buprenex – 0.06mL SQ once
Pen G – 0.1 mL SQ once
20 mL LRS SQ once
