12/04/15 08:44 Myrtle came in to the shelter in a trap. Myrtle was acting very fractious and did not allow handling. No signs of aggression were noticed, but Myrtle hid in the back of the trap and would not move. When reaching my hand out, she would run back and forth frantically. I was unable to scan for a microchip or collar.

Myrtle came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Myrtle was fearful and attempted to flee. Reaction to assessor: Myrtle is hiding in her den, pressed against the back. Reaction when softly spoken to: Myrtle looks away from the assessor into back wall of her den. Reaction to cage door opening: Myrtle tenses up further. Reaction to touch: Myrtle avoids being touched and allows no handling. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Myrtle is fearful of the assessor and does not allow handling. Myrtle is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners who can find appropriate placement for her.
