Due to his owner’s “personal problems,” this poor boy’s precious life is on the line even though his bio screams “purrfect pet.”He was actually given up because he scratched underneath the owner’s pet—News flash: Cats due that all the time—unless they are trained to use a scratching post. Muffin is neutered, affectionate, gentle, loving and gets along with everyone. At more than 19 lbs. there is a whole lot of Muffin to love. He’s dying to keep you company on the couch. We can’t let this precious pet die due to the irresponsibility of his previous owner. 06/14/15 10:30 Basic Information: Muffin is a three year old cat with no known health problems or injuires. Muffin was surrendered by his previous owner because muffin would scratch the underside of the bed. Social Life and Personality: Muffin has never been around children or dogs so it is unknown how muffin reacts to them. Around other cats muffin is fearful and doesn’t play with them. Muffin is litterbox trained, an indoor cat and doesn’t like being outdoors. Muffin’s activity level is medium. Muffin’s previous owner described mufin as: confident, shy, mellow, fearful, talkative, affectionate, and independant. Behavior issues: Muffin often hides in fear around strangers and claws the furniture. Muffin has never bitten another person or animal. Muffin struggles when he is being given a bath or being held. Muffin’s previous owner has never trimmed his nails so it is unknown how muffin reacts to that event. Muffin is not bothered anyone brushing his coat , putting him in a carrier or disturbing him when he is sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Muffin has used all types of litter but preferrs crystals in an uncovered litter box. Muffin likes playing with balls. Muffin was not given a scratching post so it is unknown what type of scrtaching post muffins likes. At home muffin likes to follow you around. Muff likes to play rough and sleep on his previous owner’s bed. Muffin eats both wet food at night and dry food during the day. In the car muffin will meow and cry until he comes out. Muffin’s favorite treat is temtations. Intake Behavior: Muffin allowed staff to collar, scan and take pictures of him with no signs of aggression.

Also, mentions behavior concerns with scratching the furniture. He may have some behavioral issues that will need to be addressed in the home. Reaction to assessor: Muffin looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Muffin remains crouched down on his cage bedding, immobile in place. Reaction to touch: Muffen stands with tail up, head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Muffin interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
