***SAFE 11/03/15***INCREDIBLY LOVING AND AFFECTIONATE BEGINNER BROWN AND WHITE TABBY NEEDS YOU! A volunteer writes, “Moochie is a mooch – but only for love! This adorable girl was brought to our Care Center after her previous owner passed away, so now she’s looking for her forever home. She’s lived with kids and loves to play, but is also a big fan of just mellowing out on the couch with you. Here at the shelter she is just as chill, loving everyone who comes to meet and pet her.” This precious pet is a total package—spayed, loving, affectionate and good with kids. Moochie lived with her purrson since she was a kitten but sadly her owner recently died and family members can’t keep her due to allergies. Everything about Moochie, who’s just 4, screams purrrfect pet—gentle, friendly and tolerant of all petting and handling. She came into the shelter purrfectly healthy and now that she has caught the dreaded but curable kitty cold, she has been fast tracked to the at risk list. If you ever thought of helping a cat in need, here’s your chance. Please reserve this incredible beginner girl online tonight. Let a rescue know if you can help. Transportation is available. 10/15/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/15/15 13:58 BASIC INFO Moochie’s owner passed away. Her owner’s family has been caring for her for the past 2 months but cannot keep her due to allergies. Moochie’s owner got her as a kitten 4 years ago. SOCIALIZATION Moochie is friendly/outgoing with strangers. She greets new people at the door. She’s spent time with 5-13 year old children who are relatively gentle and quiet and is relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. She plays exuberantly with people. She’s never bit anyone. BEHAVIOR Moochie cries in the car. She doesn’t mind when someone brushes her, picks up and holds her, or wakes her up. She’s nervous when put into a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Moochie’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, mellow, confident, talkative, and medium energy. She follows her family around and sits in their laps. She plays with a ball in a track. She lived inside. She used to sleep with her owner. Since he passed away, she’s been sleeping in the attic. Every time her family comes over to care for her, she comes downstairs and greets them at the door. She ate dry Friskies food. She’s littertrained, used an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. Moochie scratched the couch lightly in addition to a vertical, carpeted scratching post. INTAKE Moochie walked out of her carrier onto a chair while I scanned her (-). She allowed me to pick her up, pet her, position her for pictures, collar her, and put her into a carrier. She was easy to handle and didn’t resist/retreat/vocalize. She had a soft body and walked around while out on the counter but was crouched and tense in the back of her kennel.
