***SAFE 08/23/15***Beautiful MONA has a peaceful look, like the famous Mona Lisa painting, but 1 year old MONA has no reason to be smiling. She faces death by lethal injection if she’s not adopted or fostered today. 4 months ago, she lived in a great home with her brother, Mittens. Then her owner passed away and the family who took her in, decided they had no time for this sweet girl or her brother. MONA is described as friendly, playful, high energy, affectionate and tolerant. Basically the perfect cat companion!! Remember that FOSTERING and ADOPTING are the only two things that will save MONA’s life, so it’s critical that we find someone to step up for her. Please save this beauty’s life today!

07/31/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/31/15 17:46 BASIC INFO Mona and Mittens are sister and brother. Their previous owner passed away 4 months ago. Another family member took them in but can’t keep them due to lack of time. SOCIALIZATION Mona and Mittens are friendly/outgoing with strangers. They lived with 4 boys ages 7, 10, 12, and 14 years old. They were relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant of them, even of their rough play. The kittens play gently with people. They spent all of their time together and are relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and play exuberantly together. A small dog visited and they hid. The cats have never bit/scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Mona and Mittens are relaxed and sleep on the back of their owner’s necks in the car. They enjoy being brushed, picked up/held, and woken up. They don’t mind being put in carriers. They’re nervous during baths. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Mona and Mittens’ family describes them as friendly, affectionate, playful, confident, talkative, and high energy. They know their names and talk to their owners. They follow them around and sit in their laps. They like to play with balls. Mona and Mittens lived inside and slept on a shelf above the fire place, always together. They ate dry seafood Purina food. They’re littertrained and used an uncovered litterbox inside a wooden box with clumping litter. They used to scratch the leather couch and mattress. Their family put double sided tape on the furniture and got them a vertical carpeted scratching post. They stopped scratching the furniture and started scratching the post. INTAKE Mona and Mittens had soft bodies while we handled them-scanned (-), collared, pet, picked up, positioned for pictures, and put in carriers. Mona head butted us. Mittens was lethargic and wincing/keeping his eyes closed, curled up in his kennel. Mona lied down and her eyes were a little squinty. They were easy to handle and didn’t resist/retreat/vocalize.
