MOMO – A1058703
Gone 11-28-2015 Manhattan
**GONE 11/28/15** MOMO IS A VERY PLAYFUL ENERGETIC SPAYED GIRL WHO WAS DUMPED FOR PERSONAL PROBLEMS – NOW THIS GORGEOUS CAT WILL DIE !! MOMO’s owner gave her rave reviews! She was said to be playful, affectionate and friendly. MOMO also is used to being around kids and was said to not really bother interacting with them. MOMO is now stressed in the shelter and seems to be chasing her tail and biting it but the ACC isn’t sure if this was stress related or something else as this was not mentioned by the owner. Sadly, they would rather whisk her off to the euth list than try and help this poor cat. MOMO is 4 years old and beautiful. She seems to need to play and get her energy out and would do well with someone that can give her all the attention and exercise she needs. MOMO DESERVES A NEW HOME AND SOMEONE TO LOVE HER. SHE IS ALREADY SPAYED TOO!! CONTACT A RESCUE NOW IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS PRETTY CAT.

11/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Momo’s previous owner states that she has been around children ages 4, 8, and 11. She is relaxed but doesn’t play with them. She has not been around any other cats or dogs, so her behavior around them is unknown. She has been kept indoors only and has a medium activity level. Her family described her as playful, confident, mellow, friendly, fearful, affectionate and quiet. She enjoys having people pick her up and hold her, and doesn’t mind being placed in a carrier or having her nails trimmed. When at home, she will follow you around and play exuberantly. Reaction to assessor: Momo becomes alert upon approach, looking around her surroundings and tucking her paw underneath her body. Reaction when softly spoken to: Momo continues to look around, but relaxes after a moment and leans on her blanket. Reaction to cage door opening: Momo becomes alert again, getting up and crouching over. Reaction to touch: Momo was a bit hesitant, but allows all petting. She begins to warm up, leans into petting, and closes her eyes, but she continues to lip lick and seems wary of the environment when petting stops. Reaction to being picked up: Momo becomes tense during pick up, but remains calm in the assessor’s arms. Momo is social and affectionate, but her previous family has reported she would scratch the family at times, going mostly after their feet. These scratches were all surface scratches and did not cause anyone in the home to seek out medical care. She may be a cat that needs a lot of interactive stimulation and enrichment. Behavior Determination: Experience Momo interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting, but he may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Due to the information provided by her previous owners, we recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise to really drain his energy during the day and prevent unwanted behaviors while keeping human hands at a safe distance. Any future home with young children should conduct a thorough interaction before adoption.
