MOLLY – A1035879

**SAFE 05/22/15** Lactating Molly Accidentally Scratched Someone, Might Be Pregnant, And Needs A New Hope Rescue to Save Her Tonight! Things have not been going Molly’s way lately. She accidentally scratched someone who was trying to feed her, which resulted in her being brought to the shelter. The medical staff noticed that she is lactating, but she did not come in with any kittens and the shelter doesn’t know if she already had her babies, or if she is still pregnant. They did decide to give her a New Hope rating because this poor girl is so fearful, so a foster/adopter will need to work with a New Hope rescue group to save her life. Can you give Molly a safe haven, and some time to decompress? She will repay some lucky person with a lifetime of loving purrs, provided that someone works with a rescue to save her life, tonight.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Molly was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to was seeing during the evaluation. She seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried strike and is extremely fearful. Molly currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) Reaction to door cage opening: retreats (3) Reaction to touch: hisses, strikes, does not allows petting at all (5) Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick the cat up, fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
