11/22/15 11:01 Mitsy is a 5 year old female spayed gray domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered because the family is moving. Mitsy has been with the family since she was kitten. Mitsy lived with 2 adults and 1 child. Mitsy is described to be affectionate and playful to all family members and gentle with the child. When visitors come to the home Mitsy will flee at first and then emerge when she is feeling more confident. Mitsy is an indoor cat and has never been exposed to dogs. Mitsy uses and covered litter box with fresh step litter. Mitsy has had her baths and nails trims done at the groomer and she is reported to be tolerant for this. She enjoys being brushed with a soft brush. She prefers not to be picked up but does not mind going in the carrier. For car rides she may compain but is mostly tolerant. Mitsy to play swat and chase with a mouse that has a bell on it. Mitsy has a scratching post made of cardboard and rough rope which she uses. She will also scratch a leather chair and the carpet sometimes. When the family is home she likes to be where they are and when home alone she is well behaved. Mitsy likes wet food but can eat dry food as well. Upon intake Mitsy was receptive to introduction but shy to leave her carrier. Mitsy was cautious but loose for all handling and counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Mitsy allowed petting and was easily replaced to the carrier.

Mitsy’s previous owner says that she has lived with two adults and one child. She was described to be affectionate and playful to everyone in the family and is gentle with the child. When visitors come to the home, Mitsy will flee at first, but then emerge when she is feeling more confident. She has been kept indoors and has never been exposed to dogs. She prefers not to be picked up, but does not mind going in a carrier. Reaction to Assessor: Mitsy was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mitsy looks at the assessor, and then looks around her surroundings. Reaction to cage door opening: Mitsy slowly comes to the front and remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mitsy sniffs the assessor’s hand and then rubs her cheeks on it. She relaxes more and lifts her tail up when pet on her lower back. Reaction to being picked up: Mitsy becomes tense, but allows handling. Placement Determination: Average Mitsy interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
