**SAFE 12/17/15**ANOTHER CHANCE FOR STARLY & MISTY–MAKE IT COUNT! Many people will have seen memes that say something along the lines of: “Some people need to be high fived, in the face, with a chair.” While violence is never a good answer, it’s hard not to think about that meme when one reads the biographies of STARLY and MISTY, two SIX MONTH OLD KITTENS who are scheduled to die tomorrow. How did these cuties wind up on death row? Well, because an interfering person who FED them for 2 weeks, and who FIGURED they were PETS, brought them into the kill-crazy “shelter” rather than just allowing them to go back home. Seriously, would that same person knock on someone’s door, grab their pets, and run off with them? Probably not…but there’s no telling. MISTY and STARLY are a wee bit defensive at the ACC but these are KITTENS who should warm up once they feel safe and loved. Both kittens can be adopted directly, or fostered through a New Hope rescue if transportation is an issue. Either way, these two DESERVE TO LIVE but that only happens if YOU help them out as much as you can, tonight!

12/11/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/11/15 17:40 Butterfree A1060280, Starly A1060281and Misty A1060282 were found in the finders backyard. She says that she has been feeding them for the past 2 weeks. She believes that they were house cats because they are friendly with her and allowed her to touch them and feed them. Behavior during intake Misty allowed me to take her out of the carrier and place her onto the backdrop. I scanned(-), collared, and photographed her but she tried to flee when she heard a loud noise. I was able to handle her safely and place her back into the kennel.

12/15/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Misty looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Misty remains crouched position at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Misty does not accept the stroke, but once touched she began to retreat away from the assessor’s hand, and hiss with ears down to her side. Placement determination: Experience / no child Misty tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
