Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Owner Profile: Misty was bought into the care center by her previous owner who was only housing her during bad weather in hopes to find her a home. Misty has been around young children and is respectful of them but does not play with them. She has lived the last 4 months with another cat and is very affectionate with the cat. They groom and slept together and were exuberant during play. She has not been around dogs so her behavior remains unknown towards them. She is litter box trained. Misty has a medium activity level. The previous owner described her as playful, shy, fearful, talkative, and independent. Notes: Misty seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. She attempts to strike and flee. Misty currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: swats, strikes When spoken quietly: swats, strikes Reaction to door cage opening: attempts to flee Reaction to touch: does not allow petting at all Try picking cat up: does not allows petting or handling at all.
