10/16/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
10/16/15 15:42 Basic Info: Mishu A1055035 is a 13yr old spayed female gray DSH feline who was given to the owner by a friend 13yrs ago and is being surrendered due to the owner’s daughter going to college and them not being able to care for Mishu on their own. Mishu’s last vet visit was in 2014, the owner has noticed Mishu has been losing some weight but hasn’t had the time to take her to a vet. Socialization: Around strangers Mishu is friendly/outgoing. She’s lived with a 7yr old but was kept away from them. Mishu hasn’t lived with/spent time with any other animals nor has she ever bitten or scratched any person or animal. Behavior: Sometimes Mishu doesn’t use her litter box (she hasn’t been seen by a vet concerning this issue). Mishu hasn’t been given a bath, she isn’t bothered by having her nails trimmed, she enjoys being brushed, picke up and held. Mishu doesn’t mind being placed into a carrier. She hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting. For A New Family to Know: Mishu is described as friendly, affectionate, playful (at times), mellow & independent with a low-medium activity level. Mishu likes to lounge around. When the owner is home Mishu follows them around sometimes. She enjoys ball & mouse toys. She’s an indoor only cat who sleep on a cat bed and is given dry Meow Mix 2x a day. Mishu has an uncovered litter box with clumping litter within. Intake Behavior: Mishu allowed all handling. She allowed us to scan (-), collar & take her pictures including positioning her during the photo session. She ate half a can of wet food voraciously.

10/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mishu’s previous owner reports that she was eliminating outside the litterbox but we are unaware of what, if any, modification steps were taken to try and address this behavior. We cannot be sure whether this behavior will continue in a different home environment, but we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment. We also recommend that Mishu be provided with numerous litterboxes throughout the house as she adjusts to her new living space. The extra boxes can be removed as she learns the space and successfully defecates in her main litterbox(es). As per previous owner, Mishu is friendly and outgoing around strangers. She’s lived with a 7yr old but was kept away from them. Mishu hasn’t lived with/spent time with any other animals nor has she ever bitten or scratched any person or animal. Mishu hasn’t been given a bath, she isn’t bothered by having her nails trimmed, she enjoys being brushed, picked up and held. Mishu doesn’t mind being placed into a carrier. She hasn’t been disturbed while sleeping/resting. Reaction to assessor: Mishu is sleeping at the front of the kennel on first approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mishu continues sleeping. Reaction to cage door opening: Mishu wakes up – is soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mishu head-butts and rubs against the assessor’s hand, and rolls over. Reaction to being picked up: Mishu sits calmly in the assessor’s arms and starts to purr. Behavior Determination: Average Mishu interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. In terms of her sociability and interaction with caretakers, she seems appropriate for a first-time adopter, but in consideration of the possible inappropriate elimination we recommend an adopter with an average amount of experience who is comfortable managing this situation should it occur in a new home.
