08/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Minx comes to the front and meows upon approach. She hisses and stress meows when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Minx remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Minx remains in place and lies on her side for petting. She begins to purr and rubs her cheeks onto her litter box, but she continues to stress meow and swats gently (without nails since she is declawed) at the assessor’s hand randomly. As per previous owner, Minx has been exposed to a 2 year old child and enjoys playing gently with children and adults. She has also lived with another cat and got along well with the other cat. She has been kept indoors and was described as friendly, affectionate, and a loving cat with a high activity level. She allows people to pick her up and is not bothered when woken up or disturbed. Behavior Determination: Experience Minx solicits attention and tolerates petting but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. Because may randomly swat (without nails) during an interaction, we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Minx becomes overstimulated. Any future home with children should conduct a thorough interaction before adopting.
