MINNIE was returned to the ACC because her owner was moving….MINNIE is gentle with children and likes to play with found objects on the floor. She is three years old and SPAYED. She is also healthy except for the shelter cold….DO YOU THINK THIS CAT SHOULD DIE BECAUSE OF A COLD? WE DON’T!! MINNIE is a well-rounded, super nice cat!! PLEASE APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT HER NOW!!

I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/11/2015 from NY 11203, owner surrender reason stated was LLORDPRIVA.

11/11/15 20:27 Minnie is a 3 year old black and white female spayed domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered due to the owner moving. Minnie has been with her family for 2 years. Minnie lived with 1 adult and 1 teen. Minnie has been exposed to small children and is reported to be gentle. Minnie is an indoor cat who has not been exposed to dogs. Her family describes her as playful and she uses an open litter box with clumping litter. Minnie is reported to be tolerant of nail trims and bathing. She enjoys being picked up and brushed and likes to ride in her carrier. Minnie does not have toys but may play swat and chase with objects from the floor. Minnie has a scratching post made with smooth wood which she uses. When the family is home she likes to be where they are and when home alone she is well behaved. Minnie eats dry food. Upon intake Minnie was shy for introduction and semi tense for handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (positive) and photograph but did not collar as Minnie was becoming agitated with tail swishing and vocalizing. Minnie was happy to return to her carrier.

Minnie’s previous owner states that she has lived with one adult and one teenager. Around small children, she is gentle. She was kept indoors and has not been exposed to dogs, but she is litter box trained. She enjoys being picked up, brushed, and likes to ride in a carrier. She doesn’t have toys, but would play and chase objects on the floor. She likes to be where the family is at home and she is well-behaved when home alone. Reaction to Assessor: Minnie comes to the front and is calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Minnie meows and reaches out with her paws. Reaction to cage door opening: Minnie remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Minnie head-butts, begins to purr loudly, and solicits attention. She is very affectionate throughout the interaction. Reaction to being picked up: Minnie remains soft and allows handling. Placement Determination: Beginner Minnie interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat can go to a beginner home.
