07/14/15 15:20 Basic Information: Mini was brought in because her owner’s child was allergic to her. She is a 1 year old domestic short hair and she was with the previous owner for 6 months. They got her from a local store. The two things the owner like most about mini is that she is quiet and she likes to head-butt when she wants something. Social Life & Personality: Around children Mini is relaxed, affectionate, respectful and usually tolerant; she either plays gently or doesn’t play. When she does not want to play she acts like she might bite but doesn’t, instead of biting, she hides. Mini is litter box trained, she was kept mostly indoors and she has a low activity level. Mini can be described as mellow and quiet. Behavior Issues: When given a bath Mini struggles at first but then after a while she isn’t bothered. Mini enjoys her coat being brushed and being picked up or held. When she was put in her carrier she was afraid and struggled to go in. Also when she is disturbed while sleeping she is afraid. Mini has litter box problems when something upsets her, she would poop and pee out of the box; this has been going on for 6 months to a year. The owner doesn’t think it’s a medical issue, he believes it just her nature. For a New Family to Know: Mini uses clay litter, in an uncovered litter box. She doesn’t like toys. She scratches on furniture and her vertical scratching post made of carpet and fabric. When home Mini would tends to follow her previous owners around, she like to stay in the same room and she had a favorite spot she liked to lay in but she would rarely seek attention. Mini only played alone. She meowed and cried when she was in a car. She eats both wet and dry 9 lives cat food. Her favorite treats are meow mix turkey bites. She likes to sleep anywhere.

07/17/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mini’s former owner stated around children Mini is relaxed, affectionate, respectful and usually tolerant; she either plays gently or doesn’t play. When she does not want to play she acts like she might bite but doesn’t, instead of biting, she hides. Mini is also described as mellow and quiet. Reaction to assessor: Mini looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Mini stands up in place and engages to the front of the cage. Reaction to touch: Mini began to accept the stroke and head-butt the assessor’s hand however, she slowly retreats to the back with eyes wandering and hisses. Placement determination: Experience / no child Mini tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
