Gone 9-14-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 09/14/15*** MIMI is a 11 years YOUNG lady! During intake she was relaxed and solicited attention and allowed petting . Mimi is stressed in the shelter and one does need to realize that MIMI is being treated for a URI which may affect her behavior. She received a great EXPERIENCE rating since she allowed petting on her assessment, even though she was tense. Of course, once shes settled and recovering in a new home she will relax and may turn out to be your best friend! Offer to FOSTER or ADOPT MIMI TODAY!

09/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Note: Mimi was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was relaxed upon intake and solicited attention from the admission counselors. She was easy to handle and did not show any negative behaviors during her initial medical exam. Please note that Mimi is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Reaction to assessor: Mimi was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mimi blinks slowly at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Mimi remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Mimi meows softly and lowers her head. She allows petting and continues to meow softly, but hisses randomly and flinches when touched on her back. Her body posture remains calm and she continues to tolerate petting without displaying any further reaction. Behavior Determination: Experience Mimi tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
