I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 06/29/2015 from NY 11226, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-020600.

06/29/15 21:11 Mimi is a 3 year old female spayed black and white domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered because the owner is traveling. Mimi has been with his family for over 2 years. Mimi lived with 3 adults and 1 cat. Mimi has been exposed to children and is tolerant of them. Mimi approaches family and visitors for petting. Mimi is very receptive to the other cat in house and they engage each other for play. Mimi is litter trained using clumping litter. Mimi is an indoor cat. Mimi has been exposed to dogs and was not alarmed but did not engage . Mimi is not receptive to bathing and will struggle for that and the same is true for nail trims. Mimi tolerates being picked up and held as well being brushed. Mimi had a toy mouse that she would play swat and chase with. She also has a cat perch with a rope scratching post that she uses. When the family is home she likes to be where they are. Mimi eats mostly dry food. Upon intake Mimi was quiet but receptive to introduction. Mimi was loose but very still handling and counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Mimi did not try to flee and was easily replaced to the carrier.

Notes: Mimi at the time of the assessment was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Mimi is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner.
